Sejong Scholarship Foundation Golf Tournament — Ho-Seon Lim and Young-Hee Park Win Individual Titles
The Sejong Scholarship Foundation of America (President Ji Hyung Ryu) held its "Love Scholarship" fundraising golf tournament, dedicated to nurturing future talent, on September 27. Held at Musket Ridge Golf Club in Myersville, the tournament drew 102 participants who braved the rainy weather to help raise scholarship funds.
As in previous years, participants of all ages formed teams freely and competed under the "best score" format, which records each hole's best score alongside individual results to determine the rankings.
Ho-Seon Lim of the men's division, with a 5-under-par 67, and Young-Hee Park of the women's division, with a 1-over-par 73, earned the individual medalist honors. The teams of Deok-Ki Min, Ho-Seon Lim, In-Je Cho, and Kevin Choi (men's division) and Michelle Kim, Young-Hee Park, Jane Lim, and Hee-Sook Lee (women's division) each took first place in the team competition.
A Distinguished Service Award was presented to Catherine Jones, president of the Maryland Women's Golf Association.
President Ji Hyung Ryu said, "I am grateful that so many organizations and groups in our local Korean community came together in such numbers despite the rain. We will do our best to make sure the support you have given reaches our scholarship recipients." He also thanked the tournament chair, officers, organizing committee members, and volunteers who worked to keep the tournament running smoothly.
Chairman Yong Jung said, "Thank you to the many people who have joined our scholarship work, which plants hope in promising students," adding, "We will devote ourselves to developing programs for the foundation's future and to growing its fund."
Tournament Chair Sang-Geol Choi (CEO of MCCM) said, "I share the purpose of the scholarship program and have worked alongside the foundation for many years, which gives me a great sense of reward and pride," adding, "I hope the Korean community's strong interest and support will continue."
